Starting A New Business In France

French administration is renowned the world over. Any ex-Pat in France can confirm that most, if not all, of the stories are true especially when it comes to trying to get something done quickly.
Creating a business in UK is easy - a couple of phone calls, a cheque for under £100 and within a few days your Limited Company is formed. You can then trade in virtually any activity you choose.
In France it isn't so easy. Endless trekking round various officials' offices; forms to fill in; notices to be posted; courses to attend; hundreds of Euros; and three or four months waiting. And if you get it wrong...
The Micro-Enterprise and the new Auto-Entrepreneur are both relatively simple to start (both of these are the rough equivalent of the UK's sole trader), but many of the rules that apply to these types of business also apply to limited companies. If you want a Limited Company then the EURL or SARL could be better for you. Already you've seen twice as many options as you would have in UK, and there are others.
